Innovating Ideas for Patient Safety & Quality in Healthcare

The IDEA-A-THON is a forward-looking innovation challenge designed to inspire healthcare professionals, students, and quality champions to present impact-driven solutions that strengthen patient safety, quality of care, and system efficiency.

This platform encourages participants to move beyond theory and showcase practical, implementable ideas that address real-world healthcare challenges. The IDEA-A-THON celebrates creativity, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial thinking aimed at building safer, more accountable, and patient-centered healthcare systems.

Problem Statements/ Submission Tracks :

Participants may select any one of the following focus areas, prepare their submission in a PowerPoint format, and upload it via the submission link

  • Delay in Care – identifying bottlenecks and proposing solutions to ensure timely care delivery
  • Efficiency in Resource Utilisation – optimizing manpower, infrastructure, and technology
  • Accountability in Healthcare Teams – strategies to enhance ownership and responsibility
  • Patient Engagement & Experience – making patients active partners in safety and care
  • Clinician Engagement in EMR Implementation – improving adoption, usability, and outcomes
  • Reducing Medication Errors – strengthening medication safety across the care continuum
  • Reducing Communication Gaps & Errors – improving handovers, documentation, and coordination

Eligibility Criteria

Healthcare Professionals/ Students

Submitted ideas should be:

  • Innovative – demonstrating original thinking or novel application
  • Practical – feasible in real healthcare settings
  • Scalable – capable of expansion across departments or organizations
  • Cost-Conscious – mindful of resource and financial constraints
  • Safe – aligned with patient safety principles
  • Entrepreneurial – solution-oriented with measurable impact
  • Implemented Already – pilots, proof-of-concepts, or live implementations preferred

Notes

  1. Team-based competition with two participants per team.
  2. Announcement of shortlisted ideas for virtual presentation on 20th March 2026
  3. Finalist presentations during CAHOCON will be permitted only for registered conference attendees
  4. Participation Certificates for contributors will be granted only if registered.
  5. Exceptional and high-impact ideas will be recognised during the closing ceremony on 12th April, 2026.
